Pam Pecko Smith is a UK-based freelance flutist, vocalist, and music educator performing within an eclectic range of ensembles.  She earned a Bachelor of Music with Honours at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, followed by intensive graduate studies at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, Hungary.  Main mentors and professors were Adeline Tomasone and the late Seán Deibler (in Philadelphia); István Matuz and the late Ferenc Rados (in Hungary).

Pam works within multiple and varied genres from chamber music to orchestral to jazz.  The Lodore Trio (founded 2011) is a chamber group comprised of the unusual combination of flute, viola, and piano. The trio's first album CASCADE was released in 2018, featuring a dedicated work by award-winning composer Amanda Lee Falkenberg.  The trio's second album RIVULETS (released 2022) features music written for the group by esteemed British composer Graham Williams, as well as works by American flutist/composer Gary Schocker, and British-Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova. New projects in in 2026 include the formation of Trio Quill, with oboist Damla Tunçer and pianist Gisela Meyer.  

Pam has performed widely in the USA, UK, Ireland, Kenya, and Mexico, in varied genres spanning orchestral, folk, film music, world music, and jazz.  Venues include St. John's Smith Square, LSO St. Luke's, The Helix Dublin, Jazz Cafe POSK, Berkhamsted Jazz Club, Brangwyn Hall, Ely Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral, the Sheldonian Theatre, Lichfield Cathedral, Guildford Cathedral, to name a few.  Festivals in the UK and abroad include the Wireless Festival, Henley Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival

In 2017 Pam formed the vintage jazz group Honeysuckle Jazz, specialising in songs from the 1920-40s.  The band performs in London and beyond for both public and private functions. 

A dedicated teacher of performing ensembles, Pam is currently on the music staff at The City Lit where she directs woodwind ensembles and flute classes. She is co-founder and musical director of the Duke Street Orchestra (founded 2025), a community instrumental ensemble based in Richmond, London.  For over two decades Pam taught internationally, serving on music faculties in private and international schools in Hungary, Portugal, the US, England, Kenya, Turkey, and Poland. 

Pam is married to British jazz trombonist/vocalist Malcolm Earle Smith.
